As Los Angeles County Assessor for the past 10 years, I am retiring from office knowing that voters have an opportunity to elect someone with outstanding experience and the ability to ensure a fair, accurate Assessment Roll while providing the kind of public service they expect - Special Assistant and Deputy Assessor John R. Noguez.

John Noguez understands the importance of Proposition 13 and fully supports its provisions to guarantee property tax stability and certainty for all taxpayers.

With 25 years on the job, rising through the ranks from student worker to Appraiser Specialist, and now Special Assistant, John has gained a remarkable understanding of the assessment process affecting several million homes and businesses. Appraisers like John Noguez are one of the reasons our Department has a 99.9 percent quality rating from the State Board of Equalization.

John holds an Advanced Appraiser Certificate from the State Board of Equalization and has appraised both homes and large commercial properties, including office buildings, hotels and shopping centers. He is now working in my office as a liaison with homeowner associations, realty boards and community groups.

He is respected by other government leaders, serving as the non-partisan President of the Los Angeles Division of the League of California Cities and Secretary Treasurer of the California Contract Cities Association. He understands how to deliver effective and efficient public service, after more than a decade as a City Clerk, Councilman and Mayor of Huntington Park.

He is already endorsed by more than a hundred mayors and local elected officials.
